Carswell is not the fully operational Air Force Base anymore, but is now focused more on Naval operations. This base has been the focus of several UFO sightings, as most bases are, and is key in a very important event in UFO history.

In 1947, after the crash in Roswell, the wreckage was collected, and shipped from Roswell to Andrews Air Force Base in Washington DC, and then to, you guessed it, Carswell. In fact, it was in Ft. Worth, at CAFB, that the famous photos of the weather balloon pictures were taken, proving momentarily that it was not a UFO that crashed in New Mexico.
