Floodlights in her eyes
This poem is written by me, on the confusion of going into college.
She stares toward shadowed corners,
That hold more certainity than her future.
On the threshold of greatness, success or failure.
With paths lying on every axis and plane.
All heavily trafficed courses, and some highlighted
By teachers, friends or parents.
They shine floodlights in her eyes to guide her to them.
By doing so, confuse her further.
With a mind full of fantasies, and course yet uncharted,
And her eyes full of so many lights.
She sits and stares and wonders.
Decisions can wait. She'll enjoy the brilliance of the moment.
